Late Night, Early Morning

Last Night I went up to the craft room somewhere between 9-9:30PM & didn't come down until 5AM this morning! I was working on my sisters album & the 57 chevy pictures & got so absorbed in what I was doing that I lost all track of time. This has never happened to me before but I'm glad it did, it really got me back in the mood so I'll probably head up there again today to do some more on my to do list.

If your wondering how I kept my energy up, I can honestly say it must have been the Pepsi I had with dinner but it seems a little unreal that I was that awake & actually creative for such a long period of time.

Kents 4th Birthday Invitations

My baby is turning 4!!!! He wants a Mickey Mouse party this year and I think I am more excited than he is. These are my first cross over cards & they look awesome! I printed all the information about the parties (he is having 2, one for friends & one for family but I'm using 1 invitation style) on red paper & cut it out in the shape of Mickey Mouse Heads then stuck them inside the white cross over folder that I had glued vellum Mickey Mouse swirl scrapbook paper on. So incredibly simple & easy but perfect for a little boys party invites. I usually do alot more detail but this year I figured what's the point when they're going to get thrown away by most of the party people even though the could just throw the mickey mouse head away & reuse the folder part for something else.

More 57 Chevy

A friend of the family asked me to make her husband a 5x7 picture that she can frame for her husbands birthday coming up in a few weeks using the stamp of the 57 chevy I used on my father in laws invitations. Of course I jumped at the chance for a challenge. He recently purchased a blue 57 chevy but since I haven't actually seen his yet I went with Tempting Turquoise. I decided to make her 3 different ones to choose from & whichever ones she doesn't want I'll frame & give as gifts later on. I got the general idea from a card on splitcoaststampers but none of them are exactly like that card.

This is our favorite one (mine & Jeff's) but I wasn't sure what kind of colors she likes so that's why I did the other 2 in more masculine colors.

This would be my second favorite. It is definitely different from anything I have ever done in the past. I wear these colors but I've never used them together on any project.

This is my least favorite because I feel like its missing something but I just can't figure out what.

My First Chipboard Album

This is my very first attempt at a chipboard album. It is for my sister who turned 22 this week (2 birthdays in 1 week, no reason this one almost got forgotten so it is a few days late)

She loves butterflies & I found this album & the paper pre-cut for it at Michaels in there dollar spot awhile back in the spring I think. So I glued the paper on, then I used my SU inks to sponge the edges for a nice effect. I think she is going to love it...if not, I do!

Halley's Sweet 16

Our favorite (paid) babysitter turned 16 this past week & her parents threw her a really nice cookout to celebrate. This is her card that I would like to classify as "shabby chic". A sock monkey is not something that I would typically give a teenager but here's why Halley got this funky monkey, her socks NEVER match EVER because that's how she likes it. One day she will be wearing a print on one foot & a solid on the other or a striped toe sock on one foot & a footie with a pom-pom on the other so you can see that this particular sock monkey was meant just for her.

Not pictured but also included in her gifts were 10 scrapbook pages for the scrapbook I made her at Christmas last year. This is an ongoing gift that she requested & seems to truly appreciate every page I give her. It's so much easier to scrapbook for someone else because I'm not so picky & just throw something together & it always comes out nice.

My First Double Pocket Card

This was my first attempt at a double pocket card & I love it! I will probably make more of these in the future even though they take alot of paper & patience. I made this one for my husband in honor of our 7 year anniversary. Most of the time I stick with simple cards that are super easy & not too flashy but I wanted this to be special so I spent some time on it & got it just the way I thought it should be.

PreTeen Birthday Present

What do you give a PreTeenage Boy for a Birthday Present? I didn't know since my boys aren't there yet (Thank God!) so Jeff suggested a painting & after some looking on the computer I came up with this. Cody loved it & was very excited about hanging it up in his room.

Baby's First Birthday Present

I made these for a very good friend's little boy for his first birthday. I was extremely pleased with how they turned out & so was she.

Sock monkeys are my newest thing & don't take long to make with a sewing machine...that's right I've finally got the knack of sewing down! For this particular monkey since I was gifting it to a child I hand embroidered the eyes since buttons would pose a choking hazard.

Finally a New Post

I have been extremely busy this summer & while I am still crafting away & photographing everything before I gift it away I just haven't had the chance to sit here & upload them because if you are a blogger you know how long that can take :)

Fathers Day - June 2009
I waited until the very last minute to do cards...something I find myself doing alot these days so these cards are very simple.
This one is was for my dad & it didn't come out quite how I wanted to but it was late & I was tired so I went with it. In the pocket I folded a tiny piece of tissue paper to look like a hankie. I thought it was rather cute.

My husbands was super simple. I have a ton of scrapbook cut outs & chipboard letters so I threw some together & it came out great. Even the card was premade so all I had to do was glue the letters & cutouts on it & it was done.
